President Donald Trump on Monday pressed France to close its borders amid ongoing riots that witnessed the destruction of iconic buildings such as the Limoges Town Hall.
“The migrants have taken over France. They must CLOSE THE BORDERS, FAST!” he posted on Truth Social.
Trump also shared footage of rioters storming the city hall of Marseille.
What began as a nominal protest against worsening conditions in schools has escalated into a general riot, resulting in the arrest of at least 2,400, according to the Associated Press.
Video footage of the Limoges town hall collapsing from fire went viral over the week.
“Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion,” Vice President JD Vance said in response to the footage. “They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn’t listen.”
