President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are considering removing U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle amid allegations of financial misconduct and improper use of her position, according to The Associated Press.
A senior U.S. official told AP that Trump and Rubio are “extremely pissed off” over the allegations and could decide Guilfoyle’s future later this week.

Among the allegations is a claim that Guilfoyle asked Trump donor Eric Deters to cover a $100,000 credit card bill in exchange for access to senior administration officials. She also faces accusations of threatening a Greek official and accepting improper gifts and services.
Guilfoyle denies wrongdoing
Guilfoyle, who was previously engaged to Donald Trump Jr., denies wrongdoing. Her attorneys dispute the account involving Deters, saying the $100,000 was money she was owed for public appearances, not a payment in exchange for political access.
“We are evaluating all available legal remedies to collect this debt and any other potential causes of action,” her attorneys said in a statement.
Her attorneys also rejected allegations involving Guilfoyle’s use of private aircraft, saying she “sought, obtained and followed State Department guidance and followed the Department’s travel regulations” before every trip.
Top Senate Republican calls allegations ‘very troubling’
Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, R-Wyo., expressed concern over the allegations during an appearance Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
“What we’ve seen in the reports is very troubling,” Barrasso said, adding that he expects an investigation.
Barrasso said the Senate Foreign Relations Committee would also exercise oversight and that the public has a right to know what investigators find.
The State Department’s inspector general is already reviewing the allegations, according to AP, although it’s unclear whether a formal investigation has been opened.
