President Donald Trump faced repeated interruptions from protesters at a Texas rally Wednesday night as he campaigned for Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton. The visit comes as Republicans fight to hold onto a traditionally red state that’s become an unexpected midterm battleground.
At least a dozen protesters disrupted his speech, and police escorted some out of the venue.

”He’s going back home to mom,” Trump said as one protester was escorted out. “But what he doesn’t know is his mom voted for Trump.”
Paxton wasn’t the only subject on Trump’s mind.
Trump revisits Iran, floats presidential retreat
Trump revisited comments he made earlier this week about Iran potentially striking Los Angeles or San Diego, again raising that possibility as he defended the war.
“And I said it the other day, let them hit a missile into San Diego or Los Angeles on the way, let them hit — you want to see a horror show?” he said. “You want to see problems? Let them hit San Diego, let them hit Los Angeles, and you want to see some bad things happen. You want to see a country that would be in free fall. We’re not going to let that happen. We protect our cities. We protect our country. We’re not letting that happen.”
Trump also repeated his support for the death penalty for drug dealers. He claimed Secret Service and military officials had suggested turning his West Palm Beach golf course into a presidential retreat for future presidents, comparing it to Camp David.
“There are no high buildings looming over it,” he said. “There are no houses on it so you don’t have houses — we have to inspect rooms. Seems that all presidents play golf,” he said.
Trump said he plans to award retired baseball star Roger Clemens the Presidential Medal of Freedom. “He’ll be in the Hall of Fame someday, but he deserves it,” Trump predicted. “One of the greatest athletes, and maybe the greatest pitcher, of all time.”
